Project Plans 2022
Québec KAYAK FILM
This is a film in development that will explore the province’s wild white water kayaking community. These athletes live regular lives and their feats of athleticism shine far from the public eye. I’ll be sharing their stories through a 20min short film, and will incorporate natural The North Face branding and behind the scenes content. Submitting to Paddling Magazine as well as their annual film festival.
The Van Project
I've purchased a van and am planning on making the conversion early spring. I’ll be documenting the entire process and plan to distribute to Instagram and/or YouTube. If all goes well, I have a cross country trip planned to the Bugaboos to alpine climb and photograph.
Short Film With Emma COntaoE
Emma is a MEC ambassador and climbing instructor based in Montreal. In 2022, Emma and I plan on making a short film about her struggles with mental health, how it’s affected her as an athlete, and how she’s overcoming it. I’m planning on making a few of these and would love to feature a TNF Athlete once I get to know the team.
Parc Poisson Blanc
Every year I make at least 3 visits to Parc Poisson Blanc. Each visit presents great opportunities to create adventure and BTS content with the Parc, TNF, and myself. My most recent project is a video about a fellow photographer, David Ouimet, and is called “Ambassadors of Time”, set to be released this autumn 2022. We are very proud of this one and I incorporated some natural TNF branding throughout. The video is being distributed through Poisson Blanc, Tourism Haut Laurentides, and our personal accounts.
Cap Trinité
I’ve been to Cap Trinité 4 times now to document climbing ascents for athletes and documentary work for Red Bull TV. On my latest trip I was responsible for organizing the entire logistics of the ascent, furthering my expedition experience. I plan on going back in 2022 as a climber to attempt a free ascent of Les Grands Galets 5.12d.
EXPLORE FUND Project
In 2021, alongside François Parisien and with the support of Max, I was involved in the developed of an event with ProgressionMTL (A non-profit foundation helping youth who’ve had difficult backgrounds). Through a video set to be distributed on the global TNF youtube page, we wanted to share the outdoors and rock climbing with youth who have never experienced adventure in such a way.
It’s so easy to feel stuck in life. Many of the youth involved with ProgressionMTR have never experienced the true outdoors. Frank and I wanted to share the sense of community and belonging that regular outdoor activity has brought to our lives. This project is about embracing challenge, breaking down boundaries, and most importantly: whoever you are, nature awaits you with open arms.
The event was comprised of 4 social meet ups throughout the summer leading up to an epic outing at Poisson Blanc for a 2 night camping/climbing trip. Unfortunately we had to place the project on hold after the third meet up; we hope to revisit the concept or something similar as soon as we can.
ADVENTURE.
Among my plans, I also leave room to go where the wind takes me; exploring new projects as I go. Until work can resume internationally my plan is to use this year to train, gain expedition experience and develop projects within Canada. Being an effective athlete as well as a camera man is my goal. My long term vision is to grow as part of this team and document adventure stories that bridge the gap between nature and humanity.
